ok, well I get married on febuary 14th … i understand !!!! strange but which was the only real date open for that hall we wanted. and well I’m still a virgin. i moved to the san diego area in february of this year to be with my fiance. the original plan was to get our own apartment. we even had one lined up. but once we contacted the manager of the apartments with the move in date, he told us that he already moved in another couple. so we are now stuck with his parents. it started off ok…but now i have had it up to here with everything thats going on. his family told us we didnt have to pay rent. all they wanted us to do was us to save that way we can get our own place. in return we help out around the house with buying odds and ends, doing chores, making dinner, etc. but unfortunately his mom and step dad have a habbit of spending more money then they have and rely on my fiance or other family members to bail them out of it. they recently borrowed $200 from us (half me and half him) and money from his grandma because the rent bill and her medical bill hadnt hit their account yet. if one had cleared the other would bounce. they even relied on us because of our target credit card to get stuff for the house when his sister came to visit. we put a little over $300 on that card. in total for his sisters visit we racked up over $600 on our credit cards because they didnt have the money. dont get me wrong, i dont have any problem helping out since we dont pay rent. but we now are over $3500 in debt together because of credit cards that we have racked up living here…on top of my fiance’s school loans. we dont know what to do. in the past they have given my fiance grief for wanting the money they borrowed from him paid back…giving the guilt trip of him not having to pay rent. where we stand now, we cant get a place of our own. we have too much debt and hardly enough money to pay it off. there is no way we can add in more bills and an apartment. what can we do?!? how can we deal with all this stress?? if things continue this way we wont be able to not only get our own place but to even get married!! im so fed up and lost!!

My fiancé and I are starting to plan our wedding which will be in May 2010. The more I look into things, the more I realize how much things cost, and it’s quite ridiculous.
Here is our situation: I am from Colorado. He is from upstate New York. We live in Colorado together. Our wedding will be held in Rhode Island. BOTH of our families and our friends will be traveling. We want a beach wedding. Not exactly ON the beach, but we want it close for pictures, etc. Most places on the east coast that are in a building are absolutely gorgeous, and with beauty comes the huge expense. I found a gorgeous place to be married and have the reception. Just to rent that, it’s $3,600. That does include the ceremony and reception however, so it’s not too bad. And, you can have your own vendors which will really help the cost; we’re thinking buffet style, which is a lot less expensive.
We feel that since everyone has to travel so far to the wedding, we should have an open bar, which is another huge expense. People are going to be paying so much for plane tickets, hotels, cars, etc, they shouldn’t pay for their own drinks, right? I doubt that many people will be willing to travel for our wedding anyways, I dunno.
I plan on doing almost everything myself, ie: decorations, invitations, save the dates, etc.
I’m just stuck. Please, if you can offer any advice, do. I posted earlier, but thought I should elaborate a little bit. Some of these expenses I can’t get around. The east coast is just more expensive I guess. If you have a lot of advice and don’t want to write it all, seriously email me your number and I’ll call you, if that’s ok. I know it’s early to be planning, but it needs to be done, and I’m just super excited, soooo…. Oh, and we won’t skip on a good photographer. My sisters was amazing and he was almost $5,000 alone!!!
